The wavelengths of today's lasers can target the tattoo pigment: they are effective on blue, black or red inks.On the other hand, the green, purple and yellow colors are the most difficult to eliminate. The laser therefore targets the color of the pigment (ink in the solid state in the skin) of the tattoo and it alone without damaging the skin. The laser light reaches the pigment which is then "burst" into tiny particles in the skin.
These micro-particles of ink are removed from the skin by a gap created by the laser by inducing a slight oozing of exploded ink but also blood and serum as in a scratch. At the end of the session, the doctor applies a layer of soothing cream and antiseptic and the treated area is covered by a dressing that should be maintained for about 1 to 2 days, then the skin regenerates. Are the sessions painful? The picosecond laser tattoo removal machine produces energy during its impact and the sensation is similar to a small elastic blow or a slight burning sensation but its perception is much less painful than that when tattooing. Anyway it is always possible to apply an anesthetic cream that reduces the sensitivity. How many sessions do you need and can the tattoo be erased in full? The tattoo will appear more diffuse after the first session. Several sessions are required to properly get rid of a tattoo. On average, tattoos performed by professionals require more sessions than tattoos performed by amateurs. It depends on the type and quantity of ink as well as its depth. Sessions are spaced every four weeks. There will be a cumulative result in each session until the desired goal is reached. The result is a reduction between 95% and 100%. Nevertheless, we must know that since we know neither the nature of the ink, nor its quantity used, nor its depth of inclusion, it is impossible to predict the number of sessions necessary for the erasure of a tattoo. Ink tattoos are the best responders to picosecond laser tattoo removal. Tattoo removal: What cost? Of course everything depends on the surface of the tattoo and its depth. An estimate will be issued during the first consultation. Are there any risks when laser stripping? In some inexperienced hands there are sometimes side effects: Burning (poor adjustment of the laser) Infection (unsuitable operating conditions, lack of hygiene). It is important to entrust your tattoo removal to an experienced Laserist doctor and preferably a Dermatologist who better than anyone knows the skin and its reactions and will guide you both for the picosecond laser and dermatological advice and enrich your dialogue with him. This Dermatologist will tell you what to do before, during and after treatments with advice tailored to your skin. What treatment after the tattoo removal session? The dermatologist will prescribe a healing ointment to be applied at the place of treatment covered by a bandage. This area must be kept clean by the prescribed products, but if the treated area must be kept clean, it must not be rubbed. Avoid showers within 24 hours of the session and the pool for a few days. It is advisable to consult before any treatment to decide the treatment, variable according to each patient, and to establish a mandatory estimate. This seems hardly perceptible but we note however the "smoothing" of the treated area (eg the cheeks). Comments are closed.
